Anima Apr 9, 2018

I'm extremely elated (and nervous) to reveal the project I've been working on over the past 2 years. I'm currently working on 'Anima'- my debut collection of tracks. A bunch of words I've placed together that comes from the heart, the head and the radical ego-centrist in me! I've been working with and seeking production from a handful of producers and I hope to widen my collaborative scope with anyone who finds me interesting enough. The album cover was designed by Seanen Middleton Photography and is probably the image that sends the most chills down my spine as it is the emblematic catharsis of my arty/angst fuelled mind. I'm very proud of this work; the concept, the poetry, the messages I'm trying to convey. It's dark and broody but also expresses my playful nature. I can't wait to release this music and divulge more of my vision. I hope it resonates with somebody out there. x

Bio

This debut foray into music conveys Agiris' interpretation of the ‘Anima’; a Jungian archetype found within the collective unconscious, portrayed as a feminine energy within a man, contrasting with the Animus; a masculine energy in a woman. The Anima enables man to open himself to spirituality, creativity, imagination, and psychic sensitivity. Italian for ‘soul’, the title also mirrors the meaning of the Agiris pseudonym, searching for depth and a broadened perspective through silver eyes.

The darkness is immediate, with the album transitioning between nihilistic content, broody textures and Electronic/R&B sonics; inspired by the likes of Abra, Banks and Massive Attack. Struggling to assign a genre to himself, he dubs his combination of poetic delivery and murky soundscapes: ‘Poetrip’.
