Agiris /'uh-guy-riss'/ is an alias of Welsh lyricist and performer Ryan Draper; born in 1995 and raised in Tredegar, an old mining town of the South Wales Valleys. The name derives from the synthesis of the iris and the periodic symbol for silver; a neat summation of his intent to coalesce dense lyricism with a luminous flare.

His history boasts numerous spoken word performances, including a stint with BBC 1Xtra’s Words First Campaign. Now dissolving those words into music, he self-released his first full-length mixtape ‘Anima’ in July 2019 which went on to be nominated for Best Album at the Cardiff Music Awards 2020. Two of the tracks received plays on BBC Radio Wales with Adam Walton describing him as “deep, dense, mysterious and imminently intoxicating”.

Agiris introduced 2021 with the release of his latest single 'Dead or Asleep', scoring B-List rotation and hitting #5 in the Amazing Radio USA Chart. He is now set to release 'Amser': his first self produced EP, on the 9th of July across streaming platforms, spearheaded by the provocative new single 'Palindrome'.
